Book Recs: Strain by Amelia C. Gormley @ACGormley and Dirty Kiss by Rhys Ford @Rhys_Ford

I know the holidays are a busy time for everyone but in the midst of the holiday blitz I figured it was time for a few book recs if you’re searching for a new read.

Strain by Amelia C. Gormley

I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t read much post apocalyptic M/M BDSM so when I saw this title on Net Galley, I was intrigued. I’ve read several other works by this author and I have to say it was very different, but in an awesome zombie filled way. The world building was brilliant and you really get a sense of the decimation and loss that Rhys and Darius struggle to survive in, post plague.

The relationship that builds between Rhys and Darius is passionate, intense and not for the faint of heart if drug use, dubious consent, explicit violence and heavy kink aren’t your thing.

It sounds odd, but the one thing that made me snort was the location. All the places listed in this story were local to where I live now, so I chuckled imagining hordes of hungry plague rev zombies roaming around. Yes, I know I shouldn’t laugh but it doesn’t mean I don’t have my bunker ready for the end of days filled with smut and shotguns as per all apocalyptic literature. #kidding #Maybe

You can find Strain at Riptide Publishing.

Dirty Kiss by Rhys Ford

Dirty Kiss Cover

What can I say about Dirty Kiss that doesn’t involve lots of flaily fangirling? I mean really? HOT. HOT with a capital HAW. It was originally recommended to me by the equally hot Jordan Christopher, and languished in my kindle forever until this last weekend. (The book, not JC as he tends to not let me squish him into my electronic devices.)

Former cop, turned PI Cole McGinnis’s latest case just might be the one that kills him. Investigating the apparent suicide of a wealthy and well-connected Korean businessman’s son brings him into contact with the victim’s handsome and sexy  cousin Kim Jae-Min. Added to Cole’s task of unraveling the case he’s still dealing with the aftereffects of his lover’s death.

I don’t want to give away the plot, but I’d highly recommend this and the other two books in the series. I’m going to dive into the sequels this weekend, Dirty Secret and Dirty Laundry.

You can find Dirty Kiss at Dreamspinner Press.
