Easy Apple/Peach/Plum Tart


I love to write.  I love to read.  But I loooooove to cook and bake.  When I say this recipe the other day on Ree’s The Pioneer Woman show I had to make it.

Here’s the original recipe:


But I fiddled with it:


  • 1 whole Sheet Puffed Pastry, Cut Into Half Or Thirds
  • 4 whole Apples, Cored, Halved, And Sliced, But Not Peeled ( I’m going to try this with peaches and plums tonight too)
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • homemade or store bought caramel sauce
  • vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Preheat oven to 415 degrees.

Put puffed pastry pieces on a baking pan sprayed with nonstick spray. Add sugar and salt to apples. Stir to combine. Let sit for a few minutes as the salt and sugar makes the apples release their juice a little, so don’t be surprised if you see liquid in the bowl.

Arrange apple slices on the pastry pieces in a straight line, overlapping as you go. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until pastry is puffed up & golden brown.

Remove from pan immediately otherwise the pastry likes to stick. I loved caramel syrup and ice cream on mine.  Also going to try adding slivered almonds next go around.
